    General Job Definition: Manufacturing Technician - AME

    Performs tasks of a Structures or Mechanical Technician in addition to inspection and certification of manufactured parts. Manufacturing AMEs are involved in the manufacture, assembly, design, modification, testing, and overhaul of parts and components for customer and VIH-designed kits. These can range from mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, electrical and pneumatic aircraft systems. These technicians must be able to interpret technical manuals and drawings in order to manufacture or fabricate products in accordance with company policy manuals.

    Key Job Responsibilities:

    Fabricate, assemble, and repair mechanical, sheet metal parts and soft goods

    Complete logs or worksheets for all work accomplished as directed.

    Maintain and ensure a safe working environment.

    Inspection of parts using a variety of precision measuring tools

    Assemble, rig and test aircraft components.

    Read and understand technical manuals and instructions, and able to use technical drawings, data, and standards.

    Apply tool calibration standards and procedures and is a skilled worker using basic and special tools.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Completion of secondary school is required.

    Completion of a recognized course of studies achieving an AME certification either S or M preferred.

    An understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods

    A good knowledge of material properties

    Good mechanical aptitude

    Good MS Office skills.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Ability to read and understand technical manuals, drawings and instructions.

    Experience in "shop" environment (machine shop, sheet metal, welding, technical assembly).

    General Job Definition:

    Under direct supervision perform all aircraft maintenance duties related to installation, adjustment, repair and overhaul of aircraft instruments, electrical and avionic systems following the MPM, air operators MCM, the air operators approved maintenance schedules, Safety and Health Program and Transport Canada requirements.

    Key Job Responsibilities:

    Completes company-directed training and instruction and successfully passes associated examinations and tests.

    Works productively within a multi-discipline team environment.

    Accepts and completes job assignments within his/her skill designation in a productive manner.

    Completes work in accordance with Transport Canada regulations, company technical procedures and other applicable technical requirements.

    Maintains accurate log book entries for work performed.

    General Job Definition:

    Component Shop Technicians are involved in the overhaul, refurbishment, repair, modification, inspection, testing and certification of aviation components of the mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, electrical and pneumatic aircraft systems as well as brakes and wheel assemblies. These technicians must have an understanding of mechanical systems and be able to interpret technical manuals and drawings and maintain aeronautical product in accordance with the MPM.

    Key Job Responsibilities:

    Component Shop Technicians must be thoroughly familiar with safe work practices and the rules and regulations affecting their work and workplace.

    Involved in the set-up and operation of tools and equipment and some semi-automatic processes.

    Ensure aeronautical product maintenance is conducted and recorded in accordance with applicable manuals, maintenance schedules, applicable standards, practices, and specifications.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Highschool diploma

    Mechanical aptitude

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Successful completion of a manufacturer’s overhaul training course or equivalent.

    Bell Helicopter Training Academy Training. (Component overhaul)

    Ability to demonstrate documented practical experience (minimum 2 years) of the aeronautical products being maintained.

    General Job Definition:

    VIH Aerospace is seeking an S-92 rated Transport Canada AME to oversee the return to service an aircraft. The plan is to use a donor S-92 for the parts required to assemble and make serviceable one aircraft. The process will include inspecting and evaluating many of the components required. VIH has purchased both of these aircraft and VIH Aerospace’s team will complete the project in Sidney B.C.

    We are looking for a Contract AME, or someone interested in a Full-time position to crew this project, and future projects.

    Key Job Responsibilities:

    Visually inspect/assess and assist repairs to aircraft structures, systems and equipment.

    Remove/install and functionally test aircraft components.

    Dismantle aircraft systems for repair and overhaul and reassemble.
